In short: Vodacom’s current rewards terms convert VodaBucks at 5 cents each through the official VodaPay channel, into a VodaPay Wallet. At that rate, 100 VodaBucks is R5. That is not cash in a bank account, and the conversion can still fail if a wallet or daily limit applies.

What 100 VodaBucks is worth
Vodacom’s VodaBucks Rewards Programme terms say customers can convert a maximum of 10 000 VodaBucks at 5 cents in a single transaction and per day. Using that stated rate:

Those figures only apply if Vodacom lets the convert-to-cash transaction through. They are not a promise that you can withdraw R5 from an ATM or that every wallet type has the same room.
This is VodaPay Wallet value, not bank cash
The same terms say VodaBucks have no monetary value and may not be exchanged for cash, except where they are converted via the official VodaPay channel into the customer’s VodaPay Wallet. The product page describes that as converting them to cash in your VodaPay Wallet.
The terms say the converted amount can be paid into the Entry, Lite, Essential or Pro wallet. If the account is frozen, or the amount breaches VodaPay wallet limits, the conversion will be unsuccessful.
Do not treat a third-party “cash out” advert as Vodacom’s route.
Daily conversion limits
On the current terms:
- the maximum is 10 000 VodaBucks in one transaction and per day
- no more than two convert-to-cash transactions per day
So 100 VodaBucks sits well under the published cap. 1 000 VodaBucks at the same rate would be R50, still inside that 10 000 VodaBucks daily ceiling. A larger balance may need more than one day, or it may be blocked by the wallet limit instead of the VodaBucks cap.
Bank them before you convert
Unbanked VodaBucks from the Saturday-to-Friday cycle expire after the Friday midnight cut-off. Banked VodaBucks are valid for 12 full months from the banking event, according to the terms and the product FAQ. You can bank in the VodaPay app or by dialling *133# and following the menu. The banking page covers those steps. Convert only after the banked balance has updated.
Earning and ATM fees
Earning rules are not a single rate for every customer. One terms passage credits 1 VodaBuck for every R10 successfully collected on a postpaid monthly bill. That is not a universal “R10 spend equals 1 VodaBuck” rule for prepaid airtime, games or partner spend. Check the current Vodacom page for how you earn.
The current product page and rewards terms do not publish an ATM cash-out fee for converted VodaBucks. Wallet-to-ATM charges, if any, sit on the current VodaPay terms, not on this conversion-rate page.
Stay on official channels
- Use the VodaPay app and current Vodacom site or *133#.
- Do not share a VodaPay PIN, OTP or ID with someone who contacts you first.
- Check the amount and destination wallet before you confirm.
- If a conversion fails, use Vodacom’s official care route and keep the on-screen message.
