What Does an FNB Proof of Payment Include?

  • Your name and account number
  • Recipient name and account number
  • Transaction date and time
  • Amount paid
  • Reference number
  • Payment status (completed or pending)

What If My Proof of Payment Is Not Accepted?

Some institutions require a stamped bank statement instead of a proof of payment. In that case:

  • Download your bank statement from the FNB app (Accounts then Statements)
  • Visit an FNB branch with your ID to get a stamped statement
  • Request a certified statement through online banking

A stamped statement carries more weight than a proof of payment for legal matters, lease agreements, and some university applications.

How Far Back Can You Get Proof of Payment?

On the FNB app and online banking, you can access transaction history going back up to 6 months. For older transactions, you will need to request archived statements from FNB, which may take a few business days and could incur a fee.
