In short: Absa calls the confirmation a notice of payment, not a generic “POP” label on every screen. On the Absa Banking App you can resend a notification from a beneficiary payment, or for Bill Payments open Pay then Pay a bill then History and tap Download notice of payment. Online Banking uses Manage Beneficiaries then Resend notice of payment. A bank confirmation letter is a different document. Recipients should still confirm the credit in their own account. What Absa’s “notice of payment” is
It is Absa’s payment confirmation for a successful outbound payment. Landlords, schools and sellers often ask for it. It is not the same as a stamped statement or a bank confirmation letter. Absa Banking App: resend a notice for a beneficiary payment
Absa’s published app steps for resending a notice of payment:
- Log on to the Absa Banking App.
- Tap Menu.
- Tap Beneficiaries.
- On the Payments tab, select your beneficiary.
- Scroll to the required payment. Tap Payment notification type, fill in the details, then tap Done.
- Tap Resend notification.
- On the Overview screen tap Confirm send, then Done.
Exact labels can move between app versions. If you do not see Beneficiaries, use Absa’s in-app help or the same flow on Online Banking below.
Absa Banking App: Bill Payments history
For Pay@ or EasyPay Bill Payments, Absa’s Bill Payments page publishes this path:
- Log in to the Absa Banking App.
- Tap the Pay icon on the home page.
- Tap Pay a bill on the Pay menu.
- Tap History.
- Select the account so your Bill Payments history shows.
- Select the transaction, then scroll and tap Download notice of payment.
Absa Online Banking: resend notice of payment
- Log on to Absa Online Banking from absa.co.za.
- Click Manage Beneficiaries on the side menu.
- From the Payments tab, select the beneficiary and click Resend notice of payment.
- Select the required payment, click Resend notice, fill in the details, then Next and Confirm.
PayShap and when you pay someone new
Absa’s PayShap help describes completing a PayShap payment on the Banking App, then choosing Download notice of payment or Done after success. When you add and pay a new beneficiary, Absa’s app guides also let you set a payment notification type before you pay. Prefer capturing the recipient’s email or cellphone at payment time if Absa offers it, so you do not have to hunt the history later.
What the recipient should still do
- Trust their own bank balance and statement, not only your PDF or screenshot.
- Match amount, date, reference and account details.
- Ask for a stamped statement or bank confirmation letter if their process requires those Absa documents instead.
If you cannot find the payment
Confirm you used the account that actually paid, and whether it was a beneficiary payment, once-off, Bill Payment or PayShap. Never share your PIN, OTP or full card details with anyone who claims they can “generate POP” for you.
