In short: Capitec’s own cash-collection product is Send Cash. It is not FNB eWallet and not Absa CashSend. You send from Capitec (app, *120*3279# or Internet banking). The recipient collects with a reference and a secret code at participating retailers or a Capitec ATM. Capitec’s FAQ and June 2026 fee sheet publish limits and a Send Cash fee of R10 per R1 000 (confirm live tiers). To fund someone else’s FNB eWallet or Absa CashSend you still use that bank’s product or a normal account payment. Not financial advice.

Send Cash vs Buy vouchers vs other banks
- Send Cash: Cash for collection. Separate from shop gift vouchers.
- Buy vouchers: Digital voucher codes in the app. See Capitec vouchers.
- FNB eWallet / Absa CashSend: Those banks’ products. Capitec Send Cash does not “top up” them as a built-in bridge.
How Capitec describes sending (app)
Capitec’s VAS Send cash steps:
- Tap Transact.
- Tap Send cash.
- Choose the from account and enter the amount.
- Create a 4-digit secret code used to collect.
- Tap Send and follow on-screen prompts (Remote PIN / biometrics as shown).
You receive a reference by SMS. Share the reference and the secret code with the intended recipient on separate messages when you can.
USSD and Internet banking
Capitec’s FAQ says clients can also send via *120*3279# or Internet banking. USSD limits are lower than app limits on the fee sheet footnotes. Menu numbers can change; follow the live USSD prompts after you dial.
Fees and limits (confirm live)
Capitec’s June 2026 fee sheet lists Send Cash at R10.00 per R1 000.00, with footnotes:
- App: up to R3 000 per transaction, R5 000 per day, R24 990 per month.
- Mobile banking (*120*3279#): up to R1 000 per transaction and per day, R24 990 per month.
Capitec’s FAQ also states a minimum send of R40 and example fee bands that align with R10 per R1 000 (for example R10 / R20 / R30 across the published amount bands). Always read the fee shown in the app before you confirm. Collection at listed partners is described as free to the recipient on Capitec’s FAQ.
Where to collect
Capitec’s FAQ lists partners such as Ackermans, PEP, PEP HOME, PEP CELL, Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Game, Pick n Pay, Boxer and Capitec ATMs. Confirm the live list on Capitec before the recipient travels. Uncollected Send Cash rules sit in Capitec’s Send Cash terms (including how long cash remains available and what happens if it is not collected).
Safety
- Never tell a caller your secret code, Remote PIN or OTP.
- If unexpected cash arrives and someone pressures you to “return” it, verify with Capitec on a number from capitecbank.co.za first.
- Wrong cellphone or lost code: contact Capitec Client Care on the published number promptly; outcomes depend on whether cash was already collected.
If the recipient needs another bank’s cash product
When the person must collect via FNB eWallet or Absa CashSend specifically, a Capitec client typically either (1) pays into an account the recipient already holds at that bank, or (2) the recipient’s contact sends cash from an FNB or Absa profile. Capitec Send Cash remains Capitec’s collection rail. Compare fees in each bank’s own pricing before you choose a path.
